Stuff We Like

Adam & Renée love Indianapolis, and they’d like you to love it, too. Please check out some of these great things while you are in town:

  • Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Some of us are making a big vacation out of this whole wedding-in-Indy thing. The Greatest Spectacle in Racing will be the Sunday before our wedding. Be sure to review IMS’ race-day checklist so that you pack appropriately. You can buy tickets online for assigned seats or just pay general admission on race day — which looks like it went up to $30.
  • Mass. Ave.: This cultural district near downtown is full of great shops and great eats, as well as bars that are good for good conversation. Renee spent a lot of time here when she worked for the Indy Star and volunteered with the IndyFringe festival. Be sure to check out Chatham Home, run by Renee’s friend Hope.
  • The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis: Nothing says you can’t make a visit before or after the wedding. The place is awesome. One of the newest exhibits is National Geographic’s Treasures of the Earth, where you can learn about ancient Eyptian tombs or dig up China’s famous terracotta warriors. The wedding week is also the closing days of the temporary Mr. Potato Head exhibit. Finally, Lego Travel Adventure will open in mid-March and be available all summer. Leave yourself time to visit all four-plus floors of learning and fun!
  • The Canal District: This is a great area for photos and includes some of the city’s other cool museums.
  • Long’s Bakery: This awesome family-owned shop is just down Southport Road west of the hotel. Stop in for fresh doughnuts the morning after the wedding – or sooner.

Vendors we love

Marc Lebryk Photography: The couple is excited to have Marc, a dear friend (and Renée’s former weekend roommate), as our photographer. Marc is the advertising photog for The Indianapolis Star, and shoots weddings and other events when the time permits. He’s also one of the official photographers for the Naptown Roller Girls.  The wedding is on his birthday, so give him some love!

Design by Shelby Geidner. She helped to make our invitations awesome.
